Abstract

Backgrounds:The phenomenon of people with HIV-AIDS numbers ten to increase both in the State developed and countries thrive, Including Indonesia. Knowledge about HIV-AIDS is a very important aspect in increasing access to HIV-AIDS services and behavior change. The knowledge that the right to provide benefits which is good , as well as with knowledge about HIV-AIDS. Knowledge can be influenced by internal and external factors as well as from various sources of information.

Objective : Todetermine the effectiveness of information sources in increasing Indonesian youth knowledge about HIV-AIDS

Methods :Type of research this is a study quantitatively with the draft Cross sectional study with a sample as many as 3803 respondents and statistical tests using Chi Square test

Results:The study is obtaining results that respondents who obtained information of poster 5.26%, from friends 16.80%, where employment 15.07%, Friendship The Communist 16.80%, 4.71% Master, Institute for religious , 6 , 71%, Health Workers 49.14% internet 3.60 % and others 26.30%

Conclusion: Theforce of Health has a contribution of 49.14% to provide information to Indonesian adolescents relating to knowledge of HIV AIDS. There is no difference in the proportion of obtaining HIV AIDS information via the internet between male and female adolescents p value = 0.135 and OR = 1.463, meaning that male adolescents have the opportunity to obtain HIV-AIDS information by 1.463 times compared to female adolescents. No difference in the proportion of incidence obtain information about HIV-AIDS among adolescents who were disenfranchised in Rural and teenagers who live in urban areas , the value of p = 0.000, areas whereas OR = 0.482, meaning that adolescents who live in urban and regional rural correlated negatively to the information of HIV AIDS.
