Abstract

This study aimed to assess the level of implementation of the services to the elderly Person’s Deprived of Liberty at Dangkalan Provincial Jail, Barangay Dangkalan, Bobon, Northern Samar. It aimed to determine the perception of the elderly PDL in terms of Welfare and Development Programs (WDPs), Facilities, and duties and responsibilities of personnel. Moreover, the study was conducted to improve the implementation of services to the elderly PDL by assessing the Welfare and Development Programs, Facilities, and duties and responsibilities of personnel. The data were tabulated, tallied, organized statistically treated and analyzed. Weighted means were used using the four-point Likert Scale. Theoretical saturation was then gauge in the in-depth description of the phenomena and the gathered data from the different techniques. Frequency and percentages were used, and a t-test was used in the determination of the differences. The Welfare and Development Programs (WDPs) indicators, as perceived by the PDLs and jail personnel, are "implemented" with an overall mean of 2.23/4. The level of implementation of the services to the quality of life of elderly PDLs in terms of the Welfare and Development Programs, for the PDL group, is 1.96 mean which is "implemented." On the other hand, according to the Jail Personnel, it is “much implemented” at a mean of 2.60. In terms of facilities of Dangkalan Provincial Jail, the overall mean is 2.77, interpreted as much implemented.
