Abstract

Abstract. The research aims to design measurements for the vitality of conscience and the ambition level in order to identify their levels and correlations among basketball referees. The research community were determined by the working referees that accredited and registered in the records of the Central Basketball Federation in Iraq, whose numbers are (84) referees distributed among the three arbitral scores (international, first and second). The research sample were chosen by a comprehensive inventory method, and the ambition level scale consisted of (28) items representing (4) dimensions, namely (Efficiency, organizing, sense of duty and self-discipline). The scale of the ambition level consisted of (28) items representing (4) dimensions, namely (vision and orientation for the future, self-confidence, readiness, feeling of success and failure). The two scales were applied to the research sample, and five standard levels were extracted for the sample. The statistical program (SPSS) was used to extract the results. The research find a direct significant correlation between the vitality of the conscience and the ambition level among basketball referees. The research recommends that enhancing the vitality of the conscience in all its dimensions for basketball referees by using the development courses held by the Federation and the Referees Committee for Basketball.
