Abstract

The current research aims to identify:

First – Sensation seeking among adolescents according to my two variables:

  • Age (13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18) years.
  • Gender (male/female).

Second - the significance of the differences in sensation seeking among adolescents according to the two variables:

  • Age (13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18) years.
  • Gender (male/female).

In order to achieve the objectives of the current research,

the researcher adopted Zuckerman sensation seeking scale (Zuckerman, 1979) The scale consists of (40) items, the scale was translated into Arabic also, the translation validity and its standard characteristics were verified, after applying it to the research sample that reached (593) of examined adolescents At ages (13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18) years, the data obtained from the sample were statistically processed, and the following results were reached: - 1. Adolescents at ages (13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18) years don’t tend to seek sensation. 2. The development of the sensation seeking is not affected by the sex of the individual at all ages. 3. The sensation seeking in adolescents does not follow an evolutionary path with aging.
