Impact of Work Life Balance on Employee Well-being in higher education sector of Bengaluru city

Purpose: This research article aims to “measure the relationship between attributes of work life balance and employee well-being in higher education sector”. Design/Methodology/Approach: The research article applies data reduction using Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA) on a sample of 276 respondents drawn from 5 engineering colleges the Bengaluru city and condenses a set of 21work life balance variables converted into a fiveattributes. Practical implication:The present study proposes a model of the impact of various work life balance factors on the employee well-being. The study found that satisfaction with family and self-life, role overload, awareness towards work life balance, flexible environment and self-appreciation of work are impacting significantly the employee well-being. Therefore, management of engineering colleges should focus on the above factors to improve employee well-beingConclusion:The study investigated the impact of attributes of work life balance on employee well-being in higher education sector especially engineering colleges concluded that role overload had the highest impact on the employee well-being followed by satisfaction with family and self-life,awareness towards work life balance, flexible environment and self-appreciation
