Abstract

Voter behavior has long been a source of fascination in Indonesia's political contestation processes. Individuals are expected to be fully involved in politics through socialization. Therefore, this research aims to analyze the interest in choosing the community that mediates the Theory of Planned Behavior variables of attitude and subjective norm leading to real behavior. It was conducted with a quantitative approach and survey method. During the 2017 Jakarta Regional Head Election, the community select Anies Bawedan and Sandiaga Uno by purposive sampling of 435 people. The Partial Least Square (PLS) and the SmartPLS software tool were the statistical methods used. The results show that attitudes and subjective norms directly affect interests, while attitudes and interests affect real behavior. Subjective norms do not affect real behavior except through interest. Furthermore, attitudes do not affect real behavior through interest.
